We install heat pumps right across Rotorua: the central city, Ngongotaha, Lynmore, Owhata, Mamaku, Western Heights, Hamurana, and out through the Lakes district around Rotoiti and Okere Falls. Tell us your suburb and we'll work out the right unit for your home.

The suburbs we install in

We're based here and we work the whole Rotorua patch. That means the flat central streets, the western suburbs, the lakeside pockets, and the higher country up around Mamaku where the frosts bite harder.

If your street's on this list, or near it, we can get to you:

  • Rotorua Central
  • Ngongotaha and Hamurana
  • Lynmore and Owhata
  • Western Heights
  • Mamaku
  • Okere Falls and the Rotoiti lakes edge

Why the sulphur matters near the lakes

Around the geothermal fringes and the lakeside streets, the sulphur in the air eats standard aluminium coils. A cheap unit fitted the wrong way can start corroding within a few years down by the water.

So near the lakes and the steam we spec gear built for it and mount it to give the coil a fair go. It costs a bit more up front and it saves you replacing a rusted-out unit early. If you want the detail on gear and pricing, the honest run-down on heat pump installation cost lays it out.

Older bungalows versus the newer builds

The western suburbs and the ex-state homes are mostly single-glazed mid-century bungalows. They leak heat, so sizing matters. Undersize the unit and it'll run flat out on a frosty July morning and never quite get there.

Newer sealed builds in Lynmore and parts of Ngongotaha hold heat much better, so you often get away with a smaller unit in the main living space. We size to your actual home, not a rule of thumb. Read how we approach heat pump installation in Rotorua if you want to know what a tidy job looks like.

Getting to the Lakes district

The Rotorua Lakes district covers a lot of ground, from Hamurana round to Okere Falls and the baches out by Rotoiti. Winters out there are colder and damper than town, and a lot of those homes have never had proper heating.

We do install out that way. Because it's a bit of a drive, it helps to book a couple of nearby jobs together, so flick us your address and we'll let you know how it fits.

Common questions about our Rotorua coverage

Which Rotorua suburbs do you install heat pumps in?

We install across the central city and all the main suburbs: Rotorua Central, Lynmore, Owhata, Western Heights, Ngongotaha, Hamurana and Mamaku. If you're on the edge of the district, just ask and we'll confirm.

Do you install heat pumps in Ngongotaha and Mamaku?

Yes. Ngongotaha and Mamaku are both in our patch. Mamaku sits higher and gets sharper frosts, so we'll make sure the unit's sized to cope with the colder mornings up there.

Do you cover the Rotorua Lakes area?

We do. The Lakes district around Rotoiti and Okere Falls is a longer drive, so it helps to line up jobs in the same area. Send us your address and we'll work out timing.
